Wow. So, I guess I "signed up for my dorm preferences too late to get my choices" so now I'm a not-so-proud member of Parker Hall. The All Female Dorm. The ONLY All Female Dorm.

And I'm sure people are going to be like "Oh, it's really fun/great/awesome blah blah blah" but you have no idea how much this bothers me. I'm really upset. I didn't expect my first year of college to be so ..... secluded from guys?

I guess I'm just wondering, does anyone know what kind of girls are usually in Parker? I mean, what makes someone choose to be in an all female dorm? I can almost imagine all the reasons are ones I'd never pick for myself. But I'm trying to keep any open mind. Help?

Not everyone chooses to be in Parker... and don't worry there will still be a bnch of guys. They love it over there ;). If you really hate it make a friend in another dorm and spend all your time over there. Good luck, i don't think it's going to be as bad as you are expecting.

hey darling-- try not to worry so much- i was supposed to be in parker my first year as well... but! i called the housing department on campus and asked to be put on the waiting list to get into another dorm. i was second on the list to get put in Crabtree and got put in there... i still see a lot of the girls from that year- actually i live with 2 of them still! :) there's still hope. however- i do know people that lived in parker and they didn't hate it as much- the rules are pretty loose now!
let us know how it goes!

You'll be around guys no matter what dorm you live in. Most people don't choose to live in Parker. From what I've heard, people choose to live there for security reasons, or because they really don't want to walk down the hall to the shower in their towel with guys walking by. It's not a bad hall by any means.
